Trail's End Camp Varsity Community Service

Dear Parents:

We are excited to let you know that our Leadership Trainees will once again be giving their time and effort toward giving back to our community and people in need. They are dedicated and nothing has made us more proud than watching them in action. Below, you will find a detailed description of their community service efforts for Visiting Day 2011.

Fifth Annual Midnight Madness Sports-A-Thon
This 12-hour event benefits the Pediatric Cancer Foundation (PCF). The LTs have been working hard preparing the schedule, generating sponsors and organizing the logistics for the entire night. We will start at 1:00 pm on Sunday, July 17th and end Monday, July 18th at 1:00 am. All Varsity campers, along with our Upper Cavaliers and Trinities will be divided into teams to participate in this spirited and fun event to help raise money for a very important cause. All proceeds from the Sports-A-Thon will go toward the PCF, whose sole mission is to find a cure for childhood cancer. Specifically, your donations will go directly to the people who need it most, by funding research and purchasing lab equipment. Trail's End Camp's Sports-A-Thon has grown into a highly anticipated tradition. Our Leadership Trainees have raised over $55,000 in the last four summers. Please help us reach our goal of breaking the $70,000 mark for 2011. Any donation will make a difference and is greatly appreciated. CLICK HERE to print our 2011 Donation Form. You can find our "Donation Station" located next to the BBQ area on Visiting Day. We accept cash or checks made payable to the "Pediatric Cancer Foundation."

The Tourette Syndrome Association
Brittany Reitman, one of our Leadership Trainees serves as the Student President of the Tourette Syndrome Association for Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island. Their goal is to start a camp for children afflicted with Tourettes. Her passion and dedication to this cause has inspired us to take action and assist her in this fight. Therefore, 100% of the proceeds generated from the "drink tents" located throughout camp on Visiting Day will be sent to the Tourette Syndrome Association. Please visit us at any of our drink tents next Saturday to join the LTs and Brittany in the battle against this syndrome. Our drink tents are located in the Varsity Village, on Girl's Campus and next to the Basketball Bleachers.

Thank you for your help and donations. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Yours Truly,
The Leadership Trainees of 2011
