Bunk Specialists live with the 10-12 campers in their bunk and spend their day at each activity with the children. During activity period, the Activity Specialist and Area Director will instruct the activities, while Bunk Specialists enjoy their time with their campers by participating in the activities with them and coaching them. Bunk Specialists spend a significant amount of time with their campers and develop special connections, similar to that of a parent or older sibling.

Activity Specialists live with campers and Bunk Specialists in a cabin. First and foremost, they take on the responsibilities of a Bunk Specialist when they are not at their assigned area. During the 6 period day, Activity Specialists will work in a program area as an instructor of a sport or activity. The Sports Activity Specialist will also have an opportunity to coach our teams. Group Leaders are responsible for a group of 36 campers and 12 staff. They are typically young teachers or childcare professionals that help lead the day to day operations of a group of campers. Most importantly, Group Leaders are responsible for the training of the Bunk and Activity Specialists assigned to their group. The ability to lead others, offer feedback and foster the personal growth of staff are important characteristics of applicants applying for this position.

Area Directors are teachers or working professionals in their field. An Area Director is responsible for a specific “area” of camp. Please click here to learn more about our program areas. For example, the Baseball Director is in charge of their area as well as the training and managing of the Activity Specialists assigned to them. When not working at their activity, Directors are partnered with a Group Leader, providing a double layer of support for our Bunk and Activity Specialists.
